First Test Track To Be Built for Hyperloop Train System
Elon Musk aims to revolutionize the transportation system of the world by introducing Hyerloop in 2016. Hyperloop Transportation Technologies (HTT) is one of the three companies in the US which are competing for a first fully functional Hyperloop System. Hyperloop will now be able to build test track for supersonic train after reaching a deal with landowners of California.
The new agreement signed by HTT will initially build a five mile stretch of test line parallel to the Interstate 5. The deal has been finalized with the developers of Quay Valley. Although the ground will break in 2016, the line is estimated to be completed by 2019. And the costs estimated to build the line will reach around US $ 100 million.
The Hyperloop Transport System is a tube system through which passengers will be able to travel at speeds of over 1000 km/hour. Elon Musk, the founder of PayPal described HTT as the fifth mode of transport.
The new operational route will be built between Los Angeles and San Francisco Bay Area, completing the journey in just 35 minutes. The route is 354 miles long and passengers will have to travel at speeds of 760 miles or 1,220 km / hour to get the distance covered in such a short time period. Once the initial phase has been completed, the original project can be expanded to thousands of miles. As per CEO of the company Mr. Ahlborn, feasibility studies have already been carried out.
