Tesla Motors is known for its for its big ambitions. Soon, Tesla Motors’ $5 billion “Gigafactory” will be completed, one the largest lithium-battery production factories in the world.
Tesla purchased approximately thousand acres of land last year. According to an article from the Wall Street Journal, Tesla tripled its land holdings outside Reno, Nevada. This means another 2,000 acres of land had already been bought by the tech giant.
The factory would manufacture batteries needed for its own car production and also home or commercial use batteries. This expansion from Tesla Motors will help it in meeting its goal of selling 500,000 cars in 2020. Not only that, it would also benefit the Nevada State government by creating as much as 9, 000 jobs.
Although Tesla’s Gigafactory is still under construction, it’s clear that Elon Musk is on his way to revolutionize the renewable energy industry.
