One of the successes that any company can hope for aside from producing top quality material is to be appreciated for it. Now a recently released survey reveals that Tesla is one of the people’s most technologically innovative brands.

Brand keys, a brand research consultancy, has released the top 20 most valuable brands according to people’s perception. After collating results from a group of 4, 400 consumers, Tesla ranked 17.

Here is the list of the top 20 technological innovators:

  1. Apple
  2. Google
  3. Samsung
  4. Amazon
  5. HBO
  6. Netflix
  7. Facebook
  8. SoundCloud
  9. YouTube
  10. LinkedIn
  11. Microsoft
  12. IBM
  13. Uber
  14. Kickstarter
  15. Square
  16. Slack
  17. Tesla
  18. Hulu
  19. Intel
  20. Line

Tesla’s feat is not as easy as it looks. Unlike other companies in the list such as Apple and Facebook, the experience of driving a Tesla car is not necessarily accessible to the masses.

This means that to even be included in the top 20 is a testament on the public image projected by Tesla. The public admires Tesla Motors, especially on its efforts to popularize the use of clean energy.

Robert Passikoff, founder and president of Brand Keys, said that the public wasn’t always receptive towards technological change.

“While it may be hard to believe, there was a time when consumers actually feared of

technological innovation. Consumers equated innovation and technology with a greater likelihood of something to go wrong, but clearly not anymore. The 21st century may not have delivered flying

cars, but it is clearly meeting its’ potential in terms of providing products and services

that better meet consumers’ expectations when it comes to technology.”

Consumers 15 years ago have changed, becoming more open to the possibilities that technology can offer.

“Consumers have come to see innovation and change as an opportunity – not a threat,” added Passikoff.

With more innovations in store, Tesla is bound to stay in mainstream consciousness as one of the pioneers of technological progress.
